People often forget about a Lotus Elan +2. Its existence is heavily overshadowed in a classic car world by its older two-seater sibling and thanks to its superior performance and arguably better looks.
That doesn’t mean the +2 is worthy of being forgettable. In fact, it is the opposite. Even with two feet of additional length and the 10 inches of width more than the regular Elan, the +2 still manages to look stunning.
The pop-up headlights, the sloping lines, and contrasting roof color on the SE all come together to create the perfect package for driver enjoyment. Not to mention that screaming twin-cam four-cylinder engine.
Despite the two seats in the back, this French owner fell in love. Painted in Lotus Yellow, and this 1972 Elan +2 has been meticulously cared for its entire life, without the hint of cracking in the fiberglass.
Petrolicious has put together the wonderful video profiling this stunning +2, and its owner, Brieuc Goualin. If you are an obscure Lotus fan, don’t miss it. This is one of the most beautiful cars I never knew of. Absolutely gorgeous.
