The new Chevy Camaro ZL1 is just starting to reach the customers, and with 650 hp under the hood, you would think that would be enough to hold owners over for at least the couple hundred miles.
But there is at least one ZL1 driver out there that just couldn’t wait.
With just 60 miles on the odometer and the original gasoline from a dealership, RPM Motorsports of North Carolina decided its ZL1 was ready to be modified for a drag strip.
Gone are a high-performance street tires, and in its place sit full-on drag radials. Additionally, a performance shop has fitted the nitrous kit for even more outright power.
Thanks to the tune and that fast-shifting 10-speed automatic, the white Chevy Camaro ZL1 is able to put down the fairly absurd 9.98-second quarter-mile time at 140 mph.
That is a second and a half quicker than the stock time of 11.4 seconds at 127 mph.
Watch in the video below as RPM Motorsports run through some break-in miles as it tears up the drag strip.
