Movie vehicles are rarely what they seem, and in the case of the Chevy Nova that starred in the Tarantino’s 2007 Death Proof, it is the real deal.

After shooting the film, this movie car was sold to Kurt Russel’s stuntman for just $500. Well, this is actually one of a fully-working Novas Russel drove on screen, which makes it even cooler.

This stuntman then gave the Death Proof Nova to his son, who used it as his daily at the age of 16. And just imagine rolling up in high school driving this thing…

Fast forward to today and the coolest 16-year-old ever becomes one of the Hoonigan’s production assistants, with his colleagues not believing him at first that his Nova is the actual vehicle that was featured in the movie.
