A horrendous hailstorm erupted in a state of Colorado this week, and while there were no human fatalities, it left hundreds of vehicles with wrecked windshields in its wake. It’s the reminder to never underestimate a destructive power of mother nature.

Drivers stuck in traffic in Colorado could only watch in awe as the huge chunks of hail the size of golf balls pummelled their vehicles, denting bodywork and shattering windows and windshields.

If your vehicle is your pride and joy, well, you can imagine their torment – you can only hope they were insured. And dash-cam footage and photos posted on Twitter show the extent of the damage caused by a vicious storm.

According to KDVR, several high-performance car dealerships were also struck by a storm, damaging hundreds of cars. A Lexus dealer in Lakewood reported several of its vehicles suffered smashed windows from the storm.

Let’s hope no LC 500 sports coupes were caught in the crossfire. Prestige Imports, and another dealer based in Lakewood which sells high-performance vehicles such as Audis and Porsches worth $200,000, also said that between 250 – 300 prestigious vehicles were damaged.

The storm also affected several homes and businesses, including the hospital and the shopping mall, which had to be closed due to flooding caused by the storm.
